Head of Sports - International Sports Disputes, Arbitration & Structuring
Nilo is qualified in Brazil and Portugal and is a registered foreign lawyer in the UK.
He advises clubs, athletes, agents, intermediaries and international sports federations on complex international sports law matters, with a particular focus on contentious proceedings before leading sports adjudicatory bodies.
He has extensive experience in all aspects of sports law and advisory, representing clients in high-value disputes before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), the Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT), the FIFA Football Tribunal (including the Dispute Resolution Chamber and the Players’ Status Committee), as well as before disciplinary and appellate bodies of international sports federations.
Nilo also is an arbitrator on the International Panel of Sports Resolution UK and is actively involved in sports law education, lecturing on postgraduate programmes in Europe and within the UEFA Player Agent Programme.
He has also authored a textbook on CAS Caselaw and Practice - due for publication in 2026.
