OUR STORY
Pre 1998 | Ring Me!
Our founder, aged fourteen, decided to start buying and selling old red telephone kiosks. The business grew rapidly (double-decker buses, letter boxes and road signs) and after a successful exit, he began assisting founders to survive due diligence, win funding (or exit successfully), and then stay ahead through good management of their money and people.
1998 - 2004 | Best Foot Forward
As he became more and more involved with SMEs, James became more and more frustrated with the conventional, siloed and risk-averse approach of most of their professional advisers, with simple processes often requiring multiple advisers that were unwilling and/or unable to work together. He started seeking out dynamic individuals keen to take a more joined-up approach to the needs of founders, investors, businesses and their people.
Then he started hiring them...
2004 - 2018 | Forging the Fundamentals
Clink (neighbouring the prison of the same name) was established in 2004 to provide professional and management services to SMEs, from “cradle to sale”, and liberating founders to grow their businesses rather than merely managing them. As well as the initial instruction or deal, we began to focus on the long term, with our fees and services geared towards a partnership that grows alongside you.
2018 | Fire of the Dragon
We’ve followed the needs of our clients, who asked us to keep their affairs “in house”... in 2018 we became a fully-fledged accountancy firm, and in 2019 we became regulated by the SRA and able to offer comprehensive legal services.
To reflect these changes we rebranded as Dragon Argent (after the silver griffin of the City of London, where our old offices were based).
2020 | Co-Piloting Success
Clients have joined us and stayed. Our team is growing; with lawyers, barristers, bookkeepers, accountants, HR, (S)EIS, Health & Safety, GDPR experts, and more. From our office in London, we now work internationally.
